Schools
Since its inception in 1993, Project LEAD has touched the lives of an estimated 50,000 fifth-grade students in classrooms throughout Los Angeles County.
The award-winning curriculum was written by experts at Teach Democracy (formerly Constitutional Rights Foundation), a national leader in law-related education.
Principals and teachers give high ratings to the curriculum’s active learning strategies and positive feedback about the knowledgeable facilitators who teach Project LEAD.
Students complete Project LEAD with a better understanding of the law and important skills to help them resist peer pressure.
We appreciated the experiences, stories and content presented to us. My students were able to connect to the facilitators and took great interest in the lessons. I hope to work with Project LEAD again next year!
– Elizabeth Vicencio, Teacher at Jane Addams Elementary
Project LEAD shines light on my students’ understanding of their lives and future. It teaches them how to make decisions, how to plan for their careers and how to look at the world with a more receptive mindset.
